Comberton Walkers

About Us

Although we are called the Comberton Walkers, the name simply describes where the walk is based.  We very much hope that people from surrounding villages (Barton, Toft, Haslingfield, Coton, Madingley) or further afield will also join us.

In response to demand we offer weekly walks, graded at three levels according to the time taken, the distance and the terrain, so that we can accomodate those who prefer to walk more sedately due to health or other needs as well as those who enjoy a good, brisk walk.

The three grades of walks are each led by trained volunteers, are intended to be sociable as well as healthy and finish with light refreshments for all walkers at the Comberton Baptist Church foyer.   The three grades of walks are:

 1.     A brisker, longer walk of about an hour (Grade 3 walks).  On the day, the Walk Leader selects one of our seven Grade 3 listed routes to take that morning, depending on weather and ground conditions.

 2.     Another shorter, more relaxed walk of about 45 mins. (Grade 2 walks).  On the day, the Walk Leader selects from three of our Grade 2 listed routes to take that morning, dependent on weather and ground conditions.

3.      Our shortest walk is for those who prefer to go at a slower pace for just 30 mins. (Grade 1 walks).  This route is away from road traffic, has a short section of tarmac path accessible to wheelchairs, as well as a flat playing field and a small wood for less muddy days or when the group might feel more adventurous!

All routes are based in the village of Comberton.  Please do join us and help us to encourage others!

We will be there, rain or shine, so hope you will be too!.
