Delivery officer Paul recently visited Market Drayton - one of more than 60 groups at Shropshire Walking for Health. They have 308 active volunteers and 1,722 walkers. 406 new walkers joined during 2018-19.
Like all schemes, its success is down to the fantastic work of the volunteers, and it was a pleasure to attend the Market Drayton walk and hear about how the walks benefit so many people. Many thanks also to Scheme Coordinator Helen Foxall for making the arrangements and for all the useful feedback.
Last word to ‘Spud’ who is a regular walker with the group:
“Gratitude to the walk leaders for the time they give. Conversation flows, new sights, sounds, smells. That is what my body and I get from walking. We go back with a big smile on our faces and that good health feeling.”
